In 2023, Dr. Khatkur expanded Brantford Optometry to open +Medi-Spa in the building next to the clinic. The expansion has allowed her to provide more advanced optometric treatments, like intense pulsed light therapy, as well as aesthetic services, like chemical peels, microneedling, dermaplaning, fat dissolving injections and other cosmetic injectables, including neuromodulators.

DR. KHATKUR

Dr. Khatkur excelled throughout her academic career and graduated with an Honours Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Sciences and a Doctorate Degree in Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2010. She was also recognized by the Ivy league school, Princeton University, as a notable woman in the optometry field.

Since graduating, Dr. Khatkur has provided compassionate care to each of her patients—always listening carefully to their needs, doing everything in her power to help treat their eye diseases and to address their eye and vision related concerns. Not only prescribing glasses and contact lenses but coming up with individualized treatment plans for each patient under her care. Whether it be Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Cataracts, Diabetic disease or Dry Eye disease, Dr. Khatkur won't rest until she has found a way to help.

Dr. Khatkur has always been passionate about diagnosing and treating dry eye disease as she feels it's a condition that truly impacts quality of life, for many patients, and often goes overlooked. She is excited to have recently launched a dry eye clinic, which offers state-of-the-art technology and treatments, such as intense pulsed light, punctual plugs, meibography, meibomian gland expression. It is also the first optometry office in Brantford to offer in-clinic radio-frequency dry eye treatments. She is passionate about helping to make these treatments more accessible by keeping the costs associated with treatments as low as possible, and offering financing options for patients to pay monthly when needed.

She is incredibly passionate about giving back to her community. Dr. Khatkur has raised funds for domestic violence prevention organization, Nova Vita, Food4Kids Brant-Haldimand and Operation Eyesight Universal, and has conducted a number of giveaways for free glasses to those in need within the community. She also participated in a volunteer trip to provide free eyecare to a community not far from Zihuantanejo, Mexico.

In 2023, Dr. Khatkur was honored with the Platinum Award by "Community Votes Brantford" and is proudly ranked one of the "Three Best Rated" Optometrists in Brantford. Dr. Khatkur is incredibly passionate about patient care and so very pleased to provide care for the community of Brantford, and Brant County.

In her spare time, Dr. Khatkur enjoys spending time with her family, and especially her daughter, Avanya. (Her daughter who was born on Dr. Khatkur's birthday four years ago! Talk about the most incredible birthday gift!) She loves painting, traveling, and going for nature walks. It's the little things in life, like cuddles with her daughter, that bring her the most joy!
